On the right side of the insulator, are the words "Insulator / Collectors / On the / Net." The first letter of each line are in red with the rest of the letters in black. At the bottom of the patch is "www.insulators.com" sewn in red. The patch is 4-7/8 inches wide by 2-1/2 inches tall .Cost: This patch can be purchased for $6 postpaid from Rick Soller, 4086 Blackstone Ave., Gurnee, IL 60031.History: ICON merchandise made by Theresa Coleman was advertised on insulators.com in 2000. Rick Soller noticed that a ball cap was offered that looked like it had a patch sewn on it so he inquired about getting just the patch but found that one did not exist. Theresa indicated that if there was a demand, they could be made but a minimum order of 100 was needed. Rick posted a message on ICON asking collectors to indicate to him if they were interested in a patch and he would compile the results and forward them to Theresa. When about 40 people indicated they would be interested in a patch, Rick figured that was sufficient evidence to encourage Theresa to have them made, which she did. They were sent to Rick to take to the 2000 Minnesota national but they arrived one day after Rick had already left for the show so they were first offered on ICON in early August 2000. Theresa did not have the time to market them so Rick agreed to do so. |
